Description & Context
The second Information and Communications Technology Policy (2021-2026) builds on the first cycle that successfully doubled IT exports, now targeting Rs. 3 lakh crore in annual IT/ITES exports and 10 lakh direct jobs by 2026. Structured around five pillars—Digital Infrastructure (T-Fiber), Electronics Manufacturing (ESDM), Innovation & Startups, Talent Development (TASK), and Digital Governance—the policy addresses the post-pandemic acceleration of digitalization. It encompasses sub-sector frameworks for AI, SpaceTech, Data Centers, Cybersecurity, and Electronics, while the GRID (Growth in Dispersion) policy drives IT expansion into Tier-II cities. By FY24, the state has achieved 89% of its export target and 95% of its employment target.
